Southern Women

"She can open a door for herself but prefers for a gentleman to do it because it demonstrates a sense of respect. After all, every girl wants to be treated like a princess. She knows how to make sweet tea & grits while telling you anything about any football team in the SEC. She picks her battles & fights with the heart of a pitbull, while still maintaining grace & elegance. Her mystique is that of a softspoken, mildmannered southern belle who could direct an army. Loves her mama & will always be a daddy’s girl."

Luke Bryan! :]

This past Thursday, I drove to Valdosta to go see the sexy Luke Bryan in concert on his Farm Tour 2011 with my sister Suzi.  He lived up to be everything that I thought he could be.

He is just so real.

Follow the link to see a video of him from the concert. I found it on YouTube. Isn't technology great?  He is doing some oldies such as "Baby Got Back."

And he was blessed with good genes/jeans! Yes both.  Just watch and you will see!

History Geek Alert!

The new J. Edgar Hoover Movie called appropriately J. Edgar, has released a trailer and lets be honest. I am quite excited! The movie is released on November 9th, 2011.

from IMDB: As the face of law enforcement in America for almost 50 years, J. Edgar Hoover was feared and admired, reviled and revered. But behind closed doors, he held secrets that would have destroyed his image, his career and his life.

Cast (very star-studded!)
Leonardo DiCaprio as J. Edgar Hoover
Naomi Watts as Helen Gandy
Josh Lucas as Charles Lindbergh
Armie Hammer as Clyde Tolson
Ed Westwick as Agent Smith
Dermot Mulroney as Colonel Schwarskop
Judi Dench as Anne Marie Hoover
Jeffrey Donovan as Robert F. Kennedy

Leonardo Dicaprio as J. Edgar Hoover

I seriously cannot wait for this movie! Totally a history geek moment!

Book Review: The Hunger Games Trilogy

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Synopsis: The Hunger Games trilogy takes place in an unidentified future time period after the destruction of the current nations of North America, in a nation known as "Panem." Panem used to consist of a rich Capitol, located somewhere in the Rocky Mountains, and thirteen surrounding, poorer districts which cater to the Capitol's needs. As punishment for a previous rebellion against the Capitol wherein the thirteenth district was destroyed, every year one boy and one girl from each of the remaining twelve districts, between the ages of twelve and eighteen, are selected by lottery and forced to participate in the "Hunger Games." The Games are a televised event where the participants, called "tributes," must fight to the death in a dangerous outdoor arena until only one remains. The winning tribute and his/her corresponding district is then rewarded handsomely. It is required viewing for everyone in the districts.

My review: Generally, I steer clear of any books dealing with sci-fi type stuff (vampires, apocalypse, etc.), but this whole series is so intense and great! First my friend suggested it and I was like, ehh...not my type of thing.  Then my sister recommended so I knew that it had to be good, and it did not disappoint. Its pretty cool how Suzanne Collins set up the whole novel and the idea of the post-apocalyptic hunger games!  I totally recommend this book to all teens and young adults.

And luckily March 23, 2012, the first movie based on the first book is coming out! YES!
and Liam Hemsworth! He is the character Gale. sigh.

Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss

Josh Hutcherson at Peeta

and Woody Harrelson is Haymitch which is perfect! :]
I seriously cannot wait!

Pop Color

This afternoon, I made this colorful art for my wall out of Crayola Crayons (because when it comes to crayons, I don't cut corners!... Sarah says it is because my moma raised me right :] )

1 canvas of any size you want [this is 16x20].  I used three packs 24 counts Crayola Crayons. I didn't use the black, brown, grey, tan and white. Fits perfectly.
Place in order that you prefer. Hot glue on.
Then take somewhere, I suggest outside and blow dry it on high heat. There will be wax flying everywhere. You can see it on the bottom of the picture.  I shielded most of it with my hands.
Enjoy your fabulous art!

I got the idea from Pinterest (follow me here, you won't regret it!) WARNING! it is addicting!
